Hot Stone Reflexology
Take relaxation to a deeper level with Hot Stone Reflexology !
The use of stones in massage has been part of many cultures around the world. With evidence suggesting that the Chinese have been using hot stone therapy for over 2000 years as a form of healing and maintaining balance in the body. As well as being seen in the histories of Europe, India, America and Africa.
Hot Stone Reflexology offers all the benefits of Reflexology as well as incorporating Hot Basalt Stones during the treatment which further aids a deep sense of relaxation due to their warmth and is perfect for the ultimate de stress.
The stones are composed of 'basalt' - which due to its high density retains heat well. They are heated at a controlled temperature and are only applied to the skin at a comfortable temperature. So while they may be hot, they will not burn or cause discomfort.
A Full Hot Stone Reflexology Treatment
Hot Stones are used throughout the treatment allowing the heat to work the reflex areas rather than the therapists fingers and thumbs.
The stones are first used to massage the lower legs relieving any tension in the calf muscles and helping to enhance energy flow. This is then followed by using various sized stones to work the reflex areas and points on the feet. The heat from the stones quickly opens up the reflex pathways bringing about a much deeper level of relaxation than reflexology alone.
The temperature of the Hot Stones are regulated in a specially designed bag to ensure they are kept at the correct temperature throughout.
Please ensure you wear loose fitting trousers during the treatment to allow me to work the whole leg up to the knee.
The effects and potential benefits of Hot Stones may include -
- Heat penetrates to a much deeper level than finger pressure, bringing physiological changes as well as improving energy flow
- It is warming, deeply relaxing and soothing helping to melt away any tension or anxiety
- Improves mood
- Aids sleep
- Helps relieve tension
- Improves a sense of wellbeing
